The Real McKenzies are true gadabouts at heart. Fueled by an insatiable appetite for filthy punk shows, Scotch whiskey, and all out mayhem, these kilt-clad punks continue on their quest to bring their patented brand of music to the masses. Off The Leash embodies the spirit of The Real McKenzies through a melding of driving punk rhythms and traditional Scottish melodies. Guitars and bagpipes play off each other as Paul McKenzie spins yarns of times long past and recounts endless drunken revelries. The unbridled energy and merriment of Off The Leash will immediately have the listener hoisting a pint glass and singing along to the infectious 13 tracks. Before you buy the record, check out MP3s of :The Lads Who Fought and Won and Chip!
Star Fucking Hipsters have completed their first full length record, Until We’re Dead, and it will be available September 30th on CD and LP from Fat Wreck Chords. If you live in the NYC area, go see them live for FREE on August 3rd at Tompkins Square Park for the 20th Anniversary of the Tompkins Square Police Riots with Leftover Crack, Death Mold, Witch Hunt & others.

Me First and the Gimme Gimmes are up to their old hijinks with the release of their 7th full length, Have Another Ball. In order to commemorate the 10th anniversary of their debut album, Have a Ball, the Gimmes are releasing the second installment of recordings from the original session. The wildly popular Have a Ball was initially recorded as a double album, but the band decided that the two disc extravaganza might be too much rock for the uninitiated masses. Subsequently there is another albumâs worth of material just waiting to be devoured by Gimmes fans, old and new, and it is out today on CD with LP to follow shortly. Vinyl pressing was delayed, but check the website often as we will post news about an expected for sale date soon. The Gimmes are also going on tour with Black Fag in August. Here are the dates:08/02/08 Sacramento, CA Blue Lamp
08/03/08 West Hollywood, CA House of Blues
08/04/08 San Luis Obispo, CA Downtown Brew
08/05/08 Santa Barbara, CA Velvet Jones
08/07/08 Pomona, CA The Glass House
