American Steel‘s brand new record, Destroy Their Future, comes out today! The new album marks the triumphant return of these adored East Bay / Gilman scene punks. Twelve soulful songs with their signature cultured lyrics that are a perfect amalgam of the bandâs previous albums Roguesâ March and Jagged Thoughts_. For a limited time (while supplies last) we will have autographed copies of the CD available to our mailorder and online customers and we just posted the 2nd free song, “Dead and Gone”, in our mp3 section. The band is about to embark on the 8th Annual Unbelievable Self-Indulgence Festartist/89 which is a giant US tour with the Lawrence Arms. They’re even going to play on a BOAT one night! I’m sure if you pulled off a pretty kind cannonball they’d give you a free t-shirt you could wear while being gaffed out of the Hudson and then promptly arrested.

THEY’VE ACTUALLY GOTTEN WORSE LIVE
Ever done something you regret while drunk? I know, I know… so embarrassing, right? Ever woken up and rubbed your pounding skull and said, “What did I do last night?” Oh man…you should have seen yourself… first… you got totally blitzed and then… then… this is the best part… YOU RECORDED A LIVE RECORD! That’s right, back in January, NOFX booked 3 nights of talking mixed with the occasional song at Slim’s in San Francisco and recorded a live record. It’s their sloppiest, drunkest, funnest, best sounding recording ever with new versions of old songs, rare songs and they even made sure not to play any songs off their 1995 live album I Heard They Suck Live. They’ve Actually Gotten Worse Live is scheduled to make the walk of shame into record stores sometime in November.
THE LOVED ONES IN THE STUDIO
The pride of Philadelphia and are about to start recording their brand new follow up to 2006’s Keep Your Heart. The Loved Ones are heading into the studio in September and they even convinced Pete Steinkopf and Bryan Kienlen from the Bouncing Souls to park their hogs long enough to produce the record!!! They’ve also lined up some awesome cameos including Franz Nicolay from the Hold Steady to pummel the ivory for them! The album is scheduled to come out in early 2008. The brotherly lovers are then headed to Europe with NOFX in November!
While we were standing around scratching our heads trying to figure out how the hell we were going to cut up all those Gimmes cowboy 7 inches into squares, we thought…why not confuse the crap out of you and announce another awesome vinyl project we have coming up but NOT tell you the release date. Ha ha ha, now that’s a “Fat classic”! In the very near future we are going to start re-issuing some of our classic LP’s on colored vinyl. We are going to start with *Lagwagon*’s Duh which originally made it’s debut in October of 1992 and who knows where we’ll end up…maybe at the end of a long line or with something that needs to be cleaned. Ever wonder how a record is made? Watch this and this.
